INCLUSIVES

LODGING

With decades of experience and an insider’s knowledge of our destinations, we hand-select accommodations that reflect the character and charm of each place we visit. Our goal is for you to feel as though you’re being welcomed into a home away from home — not just checking into another impersonal hotel room.

Unless noted otherwise, all RAID departures include double-occupancy lodging for every night of the trip, from arrival to departure. Single-occupancy rooms are available for a modest supplemental fee for those who prefer a little extra space and privacy.

In Japan, room design and hospitality culture often encourage more communal stays. At many of our traditional ryokan properties, rooms can be surprisingly spacious and designed for shared use. We invite you to consider allowing us to pair you with a same-sex roommate on your next trip — it’s a wonderful way to embrace the local style and connect more deeply with fellow travelers.

TRANSPORTATION

Whenever possible, we arrange transfers between the destination airport and the departure airport. In cases where it’s more convenient for guests to self-transfer, we’ll provide a curated list of the most efficient and reliable options to make your planning simple and stress-free.

For our Japan Alps trips, airport pick-up in Tokyo and return transfers to Osaka’s KIX airport are not included. Japan offers an exceptional range of fast, seamless, and affordable transportation options to and from major airports, and we’re happy to help you choose the one that best fits your schedule.

SUPPORT

All RAID trips include full SAG (Support And Gear) support, providing both mechanical and nutritional assistance throughout each ride. We stock a variety of nutrition and hydration products — from popular performance brands to our own homemade snacks — to keep you fueled for the miles ahead.

We’re happy to assist with any dietary needs or restrictions. In Japan, special requests can often be accommodated; however, there are some exceptions, and in certain cases it may not be possible due to local availability and cultural norms.

If, for any reason, you are unable to complete the day’s route, our SAG vehicle will be ready to transport you safely to our day’s destination — so you can rest, recover, and be ready for the next stage of your adventure.

BICYCLES

Bicycles are not provided on RAID departures, but we work with reputable third-party partners who specialize in renting high-quality, trip-appropriate bicycles. We’ll present you with a range of options to choose from, and we’ll assist in coordinating your rental — please note that rental costs are in addition to your trip price.

If you prefer to bring your own bike, our skilled mechanics will be happy to assemble and fine-tune it upon arrival at the destination. Traveling with your bike in a standard bike case or bag remains a dependable option, and shipping via FedEx or UPS is also available (excluding international departures).

Whether you bring your own bike or rent through our trusted partners, you can be confident your ride will be ready for every mile of your RAID journey.

DINING

The majority of meals are included on RAID departures, strategically planned to showcase the best of the region and interspersed with select opportunities for you to dine independently and explore local flavors on your own. For each hosted dining experience, we include an appropriate selection of alcoholic beverages — for example, one cocktail to start and shared bottles of wine with the table.

And because a great ride deserves a great finish, you can also look forward to a refreshing cold beer waiting for you at the end of each day.
