Physically Active Youth (PAY) — Riding Forward in Namibia

Giving Something Back — Namibia

Namibia gives a lot: space, silence, perspective.

But travel shouldn’t be a one-way exchange.

As we ride and move through this country, RAID + ONGUZA are committed to giving something back in a meaningful, long-term way. That’s why we’ve partnered with Physically Active Youth (PAY), a community-based after-school program in Katutura, a township on the edge of Windhoek established during the apartheid era through forced removals. Today, Katutura is one of the city’s most vibrant and populous communities—home to deep cultural life, entrepreneurship, and youth sport.

PAY has been working locally since 2003, using sport, education, and mentorship to create safe, aspirational spaces for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. It’s not a one-off initiative or charity gesture—it’s a deeply rooted program focused on access, confidence, and opportunity.

Cycling is where this partnership becomes especially personal.

The PAY Elite Cycling Club is made up of driven young athletes training and racing across Namibia—road, MTB, BMX, and school leagues. They’re committed, disciplined, and serious about their futures. What they lack isn’t motivation—it’s resources, coaching, and consistency.

That’s where RAID + ONGUZA come in.

We’re not here to help from a distance, but to partner with an organization already doing the work. Support enables PAY to fund staff, expand programs, and provide real continuity—something that truly changes lives.

When the trip ends, the riding memories stay—but something tangible remains behind. That’s the kind of impact RAID + ONGUZA believe in and why PAY matters to us.

At booking, guests will have the option to support PAY directly. RAID + ONGUZA will also contribute, ensuring this partnership has lasting impact beyond the journey.
